It is a "National Network with a Regional Flair." Beechstreet has developed a network of participating providers that is the largest independent PPO network in the nation in size, with about 350,000 providers including family physicians and specialists. There is no paperwork to fill out, and there are no pre-certification requirements, either. Hospital Services The Galaxy (GHN) Hospital Referral Network is comprised of over 36,000 hospitals and ancillary facilities nationwide. Typically, members save up to about 30% at participating facilities. Providers have agreed to charge reduced fees for members in exchange for new patients and "secure payment". Members MUST pre-certify and obtain pre-authorization before any procedure(s) are performed (or within 48 hours of emergency room admittance.) A Medical Savings Card (MSC) representative will coordinate all of the resources and negotiate with the provider/facility for a contracted savings. GHN does what it does best and that is to manage networks. By coordinating payment from all parties involved, GHN is able to secure discounted rates for its members at its participating facilities and hospitals.
